Mission Statement:
Children colour the world with their sense of wonder and curiosity.
Quality Group Childcare
Colour My World Childcare is a warm, welcoming, inclusive, licensed childcare facility with educated, qualified, loving Early Childhood Educators that will enrich your child’s social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development through PLAY!
A passionate Early Childhood Educator turned her dream into reality and created Colour My World Childcare, a quality, educational childcare centre. Our name is “Colour My World” because children colour the world with their sense of wonder and curiosity.
We strongly believe that children learn best through play. Play is an important part of child development, and children truly experience so much during play. Un-structured play is the best type of play for children. It allows for children to go at their own pace, getting creative and using their imagination. Children deserve a positive learning environment that gives them ample opportunity to enrich their development through play, as well as learning activities. We offer our Educators one day per year for Professional Development. Our Educators continue to further their education for themselves, as well as to enrich your child’s learning in the program.

Our Facility
Colour My World Childcare has chosen natural colours of light brown and a light green for each program. The colours provide a calm, inviting environment and is not overstimulating for children.
Both 3-5 programs are divided into areas for the children to focus on one activity at a time, as well as stations that focus on specific developmental domains. Having the room divided up also minimizes running and rough play. Our infant/toddler program is more of an open concept layout. Toys and materials are attractive to both infants and toddlers, and provide opportunity for fine and gross motor development.
To ensure safety of all children and staff at all times, we keep our doors locked except for drop-off and pick-up times.

Our COVID-19 Health and Wellness Policies

This new policy is in addition to our current illness policy which is in effect at all times.
- It is not recommended that children with compromised immune systems attend child care facilities at this time.
- It has been recommended by the BC Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry that families that can care for their children at home, to continue to do so.
The following policy for illness applies to all enrolled children and employees of the facility:
A child must stay home/be picked up from the Centre within a reasonable time (45 minutes) if they or any person who lives in their household have the following symptoms:
- Temperature of 38 C (100.4 F)
- Cough
- Runny Nose (excessive, coloured)
- Eye discharge/redness
- Rash
- Vomiting/Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Body aches
- Excessive Fatigue
- Lethargic
- Headache
If displaying symptoms, children must remain home from daycare for 14 days. If a COVID-19 test is negative, they may return to the child care centre AFTER their symptoms have cleared.
COVID-19 tests are now available in BC to any individual who is showing symptoms. If you choose not to have your child tested for COVID-19, you will be required to keep them home for 14 days, even if symptoms have subsided.
If a child develops symptoms at our Centre, they will be isolated away from the rest of the group and made comfortable until a parent/guardian can pick the child up. Any toys and materials used by that child will be washed and sanitized right away.
These conditions will also apply to the Educators and owner of the facility.
Out of Country Travel
Children who have people living within their households who have returned from out-of-country travel or are identified as at-risk-for the potential of contracting COVID-19, and therefore they must not return to the Centre for 14 days.
This policy was put together with the health and safety of our enrolled children, families, and the employees of the Centre, in mind. If this policy is ignored, we have the right to terminate care. Thank you.
